Master of Management of Development

 



What is a master?

 

 

At Van Hall Larenstein we offer two master degrees:

 

  • Master of Management of Development
  • Master of Agricultural Production Chain Management

 

Both are accredited by the NVAO, the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders.

A master is a one-year postgraduate study, suitable for professionals who wish to enhance their knowledge in a certain speciality. A master course provides for extra training to prepare professionals for management in their work field. Each master contains a number of specialisations to choose from. The programs consist of a nine month teaching period and a three month research project. 

 

  

The Master of Management of Development (MOD) focuses on professionals in development organisations, who, upon enrolment, will already be working as midlevel managers. Typically, they will be responsible for human resource development and training, as well as gender mainstreaming. Within their organisation's policies and programs they will also be responsible for incorporating the consequences of AIDS to the livelihood of rural people.

 

Specialisations in MOD are:

 

  • Rural Development and Communication
  • Rural Develoment and Food Security
  • Rural Development and HIV/AIDS
  • Rural Development and Gender

 

The Master of Agricultural Production Chain Management (APCM) is intended for development specialists working in organisations dealing with agricultural production, processing, marketing, quality control and logistics.

 

Specialisations in APCM are:

 

  • Livestock Chains
  • Horticulture Chains

  

All master programmes are taught in Wageningen.
