The partnership agreement

Van Hall Larenstein has some general partner requirements, which we like to share with you:

The 2+2 concept is fully based on partnerships:

  • in a country with (proven) student mobility;
  • in an environment with a relevant local and international world of work in the field of the majors involved;
  • with institutes that have a reputation and a quality to prepare their students for VHL's 3rd year level.

VHL expects from partners:

  • full responsibility for the first 2 years of the joint program;
  • willingness and capacity to prepare the students for the competence based VHL education concept;
  • willingness and capacity to link its education with the local and international world of work in the field of the majors involved.

VHL takes the responsibility to assist the partner:

  • by means of guest lectures, curriculum support and staff capacity building;
  • in conducting the selection interviews for the students at the end of the first 2 years.

Furthermore the involved VHL courses guarantee:

  • an English taught final phase major, starting with a bridging unit in semester 5;
  • clear selection criteria for entering year 3;
  • resources for guest lectures, monitoring and selection in year 1 and 2;
  • an existing network in the labour market (or willingness / feasibility to establish such a network).

VHL entry requirements

  • Students must have successfully completed the first two years of the joint program (pass marks) and must prove a sufficient proficiency of the English language (e.g. minimum TOEFL 550 or IELTS 6.0) and possess basic computer skills. Part of the selection process is a final interview under VHL's responsibility in order to evaluate the student's knowledge of the concerned sector (major) and the necessary motivation and competences.

Finances

Tuition fees in the first two years are the full responsibility and freedom of the partner institute.

Tuition fees at VHL in the second two years are based on the regular (commercial) fee, including a fixed waiver. They are fixed and dedicated for each partnership. An indication of the net tuition fee for students in a 2+2 partnership is € 6,500. See also: http://www.vanhall-larenstein.com/Enrolment/Non-EuropeanStudents/TuitionFees.aspx.

For an indication of other study costs (rent, food, insurances, curriculum materials, etc.) see http://www.vanhall-larenstein.com/Enrolment/Non-EuropeanStudents/OverallCosts.aspx.
