Regional
In the regions surrounding our locations, we want to keep good and intensive contacts with the supplying schools (secondary education and intermediate vocational training). For students of intermediate vocational training, good transfer possibilities must be realised. For that purpose Van Hall Larenstein seeks to collaborate with Agricultural Educational Centres in the neighbourhood and Regional Educational Centres with relevant pre-training.
We also regard the collaboration with other colleges in the region as being very important, for example the knowledge campus Leeuwarden or the HAN University in the region Velp/Wageningen. On the one hand this collaboration lies in the sphere of facilities, on the other hand it is possible to realise together a broader range of choices or a particular specialisation for students.
For small and medium-sized companies and institutions in the region we want to be a partner in knowledge circulation. This is achieved by entering associations that for example are aimed on research (Wetsus, Waddenacademie) and by providing contract activities for companies and institutions.

Van Hall Larenstein is a member of Agri-ProFocus (APF), a partnership that promotes farmer entrepreneurship in developing countries. APF's founding members are Dutch ngo's, knowledge institutions and companies which promote farmer entrepreneurship. Each member has an extensive network in developing countries. Agri-ProFocus is the sum of all of these networks. By coordinating activities, exchanging information and ideas and undertaking joint action, we aspire to improve existing linkages and provide a better service to farmer entrepreneurs in the South.
