Students view the forest from the top
Four students Bosbouw / Urban Forestry of Hogeschool Van Hall Larenstein conducted a playful visitors' survey at the Staelduinse Bos near 's-Gravenzande: on January 18th they rented an elevator platform to allow visitors to view the forest from above.
"Walking, horse riding... the Staelduinse Bos is used in various ways," Loes Trienekens, third year student Bosbouw / Urban Forestry, says. "Those various functions sometimes clash. For our project we had to take stock of all those wishes."

The students decided to rent an elevator platform to allow visitors to view the forest from a different angle. "There was some slight queuing, since only two persons at a time could access the elevator platform. But we provided the queue with drinking chocolate and pea soup, and there was a tree of ideas in which everyone could put their wishes for the forest. Something quite different from an ordinary survey."

"I think that all in all approximately 150 people visited the event," Loes enthuses. "We are satisfied with the results, and from the Zuid-Hollands Landschap, the managing authority of the forest, we received positive reactions as well. All in all a successful project."
