Hans van Haeren
director education Garden and Landscape Architecture
Hans was born in Nijmegen on January 1st, 1953. After the HBS (former Dutch highschool) in Nijmegen and having graduated in Dutch and geography, he became a teacher of geography and Dutch at the Isala College in Silvolde (Havo). In 1977 he transferred to Doetinchem, to what is currently called the "ROC Het Graafschapcollege". First as a teacher of Dutch, later on as vice-director in the sector economy as well. In that period he also was president of the Landelijke MBO- Examens Toeristische Aardrijkskunde and author at Wolters Noordhoff and Malmberg, writing of textbooks for MBO/HAVO and VWO in the field of communication, orientation philosophy, social studies, Dutch and recreation/tourism. In 1990 he founded Bureau LEEST, a bureau for text, training and consultancy, and remained co-director till 1995. In 1995 he was appointed director of an AOC-school in Mierlo-Hout, later on in Nijmegen.
From 2000 to 2007 he was member of the board and developer at Rural Tourism International, a European platform for trainers in rural tourism.
From 2003 onwards he was employed at Van Hall Larenstein as director education for various studies. As of 2005 he is director education of the course Garden and Landscape Architecture in Velp.
